Five Guys and Heathrow have announced that the iconic burger brand will be opening a new restaurant in Terminal 5 later this year.
Located on the upper level of Heathrow T5, the 2,500 square feet unit be the restaurant’s first airport outlet at an airport in Europe.
The site will also create between 80-100 new jobs for the terminal.
“We are thrilled to be opening a brand new Five Guys at Heathrow Terminal 5 this year,” said John Eckbert, CEO of Five Guys UK.
“Having opened over 170 restaurants across the UK since we first launched back in 2013, the brand has established itself as one of the nation’s favourites for premium burgers.
“Now Five Guys is cementing itself at the UK’s busiest travel hub; we are excited to be providing our delicious menu to travellers as part of their journeys.”
The UK hub will work closely with Five Guys to align on Heathrow’s retail strategy – which is to consider Digital, Experience, Space and Offer (DESO) within the proposition.
Fraser Brown, Heathrow’s retail director, noted: “This exciting addition reflects our commitment to making every journey better, as we continue to build an extraordinary airport fit for the future. We’re confident this new arrival will be a hit with our passengers.”
Founded in Virginia in 1986 and launched in the UK in 2013 in London’s Covent Garden, the American-diner style restaurant has become one of the UK’s most-loved restaurants and has amassed a loyal fanbase.
