Cargo falls but passenger numbers rise at Amsterdam Schiphol


Almost 6.6 million passengers passed through Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in July 2025, an increase of 4% on the corresponding month a year ago.

According to the airport, most outbound passengers flew to Spain, the United Kingdom and Greece as a total of 43,320 (+2%) of flights were handled at the gateway during the month.

The monthly passenger total included 2.3 million transfer passengers.

Cargo didn’t fair quite so well in July, however, falling by around 10% due to what Schiphol calls ‘temporary operational factors’

Notably, cargo carried on passenger flights decreased by 6% year-on-year. In total, 45% of the cargo was transported on passenger flights and 55% on full freighter flights.

The number of full freighter flights was 1,250 in July 2025, 4% lower than July 2024 (1,304).
